A Word About the Weekend - Watch Your Mouth
Don’t make rash promises, and don’t be hasty in bringing matters before God. After all, God is in heaven, and you are here on earth. So let your words be few. Ecclesiastes 5:2
Speak Less, Sin less
Has your mouth ever gotten you in trouble? There is an old saying that sometimes people let their mouth write checks that their lives can't cash. The writer of Ecclesiastes has great insights with a clear warning for us to "watch our words"... Join us this Sunday as we continue in the study of this incredible book!
Jon Bloom of Desiring God says this, "Our God is a speaking God. He is not silent. The Word is speaking into existence you and everything else that exists. And the Word’s few spoken human words have more power in them than five hundred trillion words of men, angels, and demons. That’s why the Father says to us of his Son, “listen to him” (Matthew 17:5). We would do well to listen more and speak less — and when we do speak, to only speak what he gives us to say."
