A Word about the Word

One foundational component to growing in Christ is to saturate your life with the Word of God. My desire as a pastor is for every member of Hardy Street Baptist Church to:

1) Get into God's Word 
2) Grasp God's Word
3) Grow in God's Word

But I truly believe it's not enough for me or our pastoral team to tell you that you "ought" to without showing you "how to"!

That's why we are introducing tools to help you grow! For each of the 3 goal areas, we have developed a plan and a process to help you move forward. Here's an overview of the tools and in the days ahead, we will go more indepth with each. 

GOAL - Get into God's Word                 TOOL - Bible Reading Plan
There are lots of ways to read through the Bible... We have assembled a list of various Bible Reading Plans for you to choose from! The best one for you is the one that you'll stick with! Find one and jump in! This isn't an exhaustive list. The "Read the Bible For Life" plan offers a number of additional tools to help you with a chronological reading. There are also Bible Apps like YouVersion that will track your progress if you want to read on a computer, phone, or other device. Check out the great plans at bible.org

GOAL - Grasp God's Word                   TOOL  - "Feed Yourself" Workshops

Reading and studying the truths in the Bible are vital to developing our relationship with God. Each quarter of 2017, we will host a "Feed Yourself" workshop. These simple learning exercises will give you confidence in yoru ability to study, understand, and correctly apply the Word of God. (Workshop schedules TBA)

TOOLS - The Disciple's Path Curriculum and the 2017 Bible Memory Plan

Without a comprehensive plan for growth, Bible study can devolve into information rather than transformation! Lots of churches are filled with "fat babies"... Christians who have never outgrown the infancy of their faith. We want to change that at Hardy Street BC! The Disciple's Path is a simple small-group study that will help us all grow in Christ. We will utilize our Sunday School (Adult Bibiel Fellowship) time on Sunday mornings for this study and we will kick off the Disciple's Path in March. (Watch for details)

The 2017 Bible Memory Plan - Every Sunday in 2017, we will memorize a verse of Scripture together! This simple discipline of hiding the Word in our hearts will help us grow.
