READ THE BOOK

RTBFAQs

Why the “Read the Book” Campaign? Biblical Illiteracy is at an all-time high in our nation. We, as believers, no longer have the luxury of assuming our neighbors or family members have a working knowledge of the Bible... that’s why it is VITAL that we dedicate ourselves to learning, understanding and sharing the story of God’s Word! Reading a chronological Bible enables the reader to see the “big story” more clearly.

What is “Read the Book” all about? We believe that daily intake of the Word of God is one of the most important spiritual disciplines a person can undertake! Getting to know God and developing a growing faith is inextricably linked to spending time in His Word!
We are encouraging every member to read through the Bible and many of our Bible Fellowship Groups will begin a weekly study through a chronology of Scripture.

one year .   The One Year Chronological Bible, NLT by Tyndale

What Bible reading plan will we suggest? We will follow the chronology of The One Year® Chronological Bible, NKJV (Tyndale, 2013), NLT (Tyndale, 2008), NIV (Tyndale, 2011).

Do I have to buy a Chronological Bible?
NO! You can use any translation and any Bible you want… We will give you a reading plan to go by. We have NLT One Year Chronological Bibles available for purchase in regular or large print, however, buying one of these Bibles is not necessary (just conveniently structured into daily readings). What resources will the church have for the “Read the Book” Campaign?

1) A quarterly guide for study and class participation.
2) A complete chronological reading plan.
3) A booklet entitled “The 14 Era Story of the Bible”.
4) A bookmark with the 14 Eras graphic.
5) Access to weekly email videos from Dr. Stan and Iva May. Three brief weekly videos that preview the reading, answer hard questions in the reading, and review the reading in light of the big story of the Bible. Subscribe HERE.

6) 365 daily daily devotionals - HERE.

Can I participate on my own? YES! Some Sunday School classes will continue with their current curriculum, but you can use the reading plan & guides to follow along, even if your class is not doing the study.

What if my current class is not using the CBT materials?

If you want to benefit from the weekly study, you can join a class that is using the Chronological Bible Discipleship curriculum. A list of classes that are using CBT, stop by the church office or the welcome center.
