Meet Mackenzie Davis

MY FAMILY: I graduated from the Univsersity of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor's in Social Work. I am the middle child of my parents, Greg and Susie Piercy. I have an older sister named Megan, and a younger brother named Luke. I married my husband Riley in May 2021.

MY STORY:
My story starts with growing up in a Christian and loving home.  I received Jesus into my life when I was 10 years old. I can remember sitting in church that day and how the Holy Spirit began convicting my heart of how much I needed him. Later that night, I went to my parents and began to explain to them what was going on, and they explained how the Holy Spirit was prompting me to make Him the Lord of my life.  I will forever be thankful for that special moment I got to share with my parents as I received Jesus into my life that changed my heart and my life for eternity.

Although I came from a loving, Christian home and received Christ at a young age, I still endured my own personal struggles over the years.  Over the next few years our family was moving from church to church, and I let this hinder my relationship with the Lord growing in tremendous ways.  It wasn’t until my sophomore year of high school that a trusted mentor stepped into my life, and began showing me how to walk like a young woman in Christ.

At the end of my first semester of college, I realized that I was more depressed and anxiety ridden than ever, had terrible grades, and that I had walked away from choosing growth in my relationship with the Lord.  I can remember spending the break from school crying out to the Lord many nights to forgive me for wasting my time with choosing my own sinful nature.  During this time, the Holy Spirit never stopped reminding me of how Jesus rescued me, saved me for my sin, and lavished grace upon me.

Since that season in my life, the Lord opened up the doors for me to visit Hardy Street with a friend, and get plugged in with an incredible church family.  By being at Hardy Street, the Lord has led many mentors, leaders, and families that have poured into me and helped me further my walk with Christ. Jesus Christ changes lives. After all, He changed mine.

MY FAVORITE VERSE: Psalms 51:17 “The sacrifice pleasing to God is a broken spirit. God, You will not despise a broken and humbled heart.”

MY FAVORITE QUOTE(s): “Radical obedience to Christ is not easy... It's not comfort, not health, not wealth, and not prosperity in this world. Radical obedience to Christ risks losing all these things. But in the end, such risk finds its reward in Christ. And he is more than enough for us.” David Platt
