IT MATTERS: What You Believe!
Psalm 82:3-4 and 1 Timothy 5:3-4
Dr. Scott Hanberry
Statement of Affirmation- I believe God calls all Christians to show compassion to those in need.
Where do we SEE God's Compassion?
Deuteronomy 10:18 - God moves toward the helpless.
Matthew 14:14 - God moves toward the hurting.
James 4:6 - God moves toward the humble.
To KNOW God is to know COMPASSION!
Why? Compassion is a reflection of the heart of God.
How do we SHARE God's Compassion?
- Develope a compassionate mindset from the presepective of love.
- Demonstrate His strength by showing your weakness!
- Deliberately engage the lives of the poor, the helpless, & the hurting!
- Consider these declarations:
I believe I am responsible before God to show compassion to the sick and imprisoned, the helpless & the hurting.
I believe that I should stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.
I believe that Christians should not purchase everything they can afford, so that their discretionary money might be available to help those in need.
