IT MATTERS: How You Behave!

WHY PRAY?
Matthew 6: 5-13

Statement of Affirmation: I pray to God to know Him, to lay my request before Him and to find direction for my daily life.

Four Purposes of Prayer:

1) Prayer is an avenue of COMMUNICATION. (vs. 6)

It's ALL ABOUT a growing RELATIONSHIP !

2) Prayer is an act of DEDICATION.

It's ALL ABOUT a deepening WORSHIP!

~We acknowledge our dependence ON God.
~ We express our devotion TO God!
~ We proclaim our delight IN God!

3) Prayer is an opportunity for suplication. (requests)

It's ALL ABOUT a maturing in DISCIPLESHIP!

God never shuts his storehouse until you shut your mouth. ~Spurgeon

4) Prayer is a mysterious invitation to COOPERATION.

It's ALL ABOUT our Heavenly citizenship.
