The way to be honored by the Lord is to realize that you are nothing before the Lord. 

The way to forgiveness is through confession of sin. 

The way to be right with the Lord is to realize just how wrong we are. 

The way we are exalted with Him is by humbling ourselves, confessing our sin, and asking for His help. One day we will all be humbled (Philippians 2:11), but then it will be too late. So you can wait and be humbled, or you can humble yourself and experience God's blessings and one day be exalted with Christ.
