The Sabbath Was Made For Man

July 17, 2022 Speaker: Scott Hanberry Series: Walking with Jesus

Topic: Rest, Faith Scripture: Mark 2:23–28

When we think about "rest," we may automatically refer to a holiday or a vacation. However, if we take such a reprieve and then return to normal daily life and stressors, situations, circumstances in life, then the rest that we desired has come and gone. Jesus never said come to me and I will give you rest, and then return back just to pick up those same burdens. So what does "Sabbath rest" look like? Perhaps there's more to this concept than just replenished energy! Jesus serves as our Sabbath rest in the sense that He provides freedom from living under the works of the law. His sacrifice has paid the price for our salvation. We accept salvation as His free gift, entering into His rest both now as well as in eternity in His presence.
