We need to talk... TO GOD!

Hardy Street Family… We need to talk  (TO GOD!)
I am calling our church family to meet at the altar at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow (and every Sunday from now on) to pray for God’s presence and power for the day! JOIN IN!
Every Christian needs to pray fervently for the Holy Spirit’s direction and control of all aspects of ministry: worship, evangelism, education, witnessing, serving outreach, and missions. If prayer and the ministry of the Word are the focus of the disciples, then prayer is one-half of our ministry! And prayer gives to the other half all its power and success”. We cannot over-emphasize the truth of Jesus’ statement that His house shall be called a house of prayer.
We must understand the following:
1. It is better to let the work go by default than to let the praying go by neglect. Whatever affects the intensity of our praying affects the value of our work….Nothing is well done without prayer for the simple reason that it leaves God out of the account. It is so easy to be seduced by the good to the neglect of the best, until both the good and the best perish. How easy to neglect prayer or abbreviate our praying simply by the plea that we have church work on our hands. Satan has effectively disarmed us when he can keep us too busy doing this to stop and pray (E.M. Bounds).
2. A physical body can live without an arm, a leg, an ear, even an eye. But a body cannot survive without a a vital organ like the heart, the liver, or the lungs. Every ministry in the church is vital for optimum body function, but prayer is vital organ without which the church is dead. Thus, prayer demands primary attention and effort at every level of the church, especially within the leadership!
3. A passion to seek the Lord is more caught than taught (Daniel Henderson).
4. There’s no greater joy than seeing a congregation ignited to seek the Lord in Scripture-fed, Spirit-led, worship-based prayer (Daniel Henderson).
Tomorrow, I will kick off a series for the month of March entitled, How Can I Pray at a Time Like This?”…  Please pass this email along to your Sunday School class and to others! Invite someone to church tomorrow…and meet me at the altar at 8:00 am!
Let’s ask God for a mighty movement!“

In church life, prayer is not the only thing we do but must be the first thing we do.”
